Rawalpindi/Islamabad mein Isha ki Aazaan ka waqt hogaya hai!!!

In Pakistan, one thing I find very awkward is the different prayer timings of different Masjids. If you hear Aazaan from one masjid, then for about half an hour you keep hearing Aazaan from different Masjids. Whereas its not like that in Kuwait. Here all the Masjids give Aazaan at the same time.

Anyways, when we were staying in Karachi, Mom heard Aazaan on PTV and so she offered her prayer. But later she heard Aazaan from the nearby Masjid, and realised that she had offered her prayer on the Rawalpindi/Islamabad timings :).

Now on TV, you might hear "Rawalpindi aur Islamabad ke masaafaat main Isha ki Aazaan ka waqt hua chaahta hai. Doosre shehron k muqaamen apne waqt k hisaab se namaaz parhain."
I often tease mom saying that the 2nd sentence is put exclusively for her :)

Similar thing happened with me as well. Last year I visited Pakistan in Feb. I asked if some1 heard Asar Aazaan, he said yes, so I offered my prayer. But later, I heard Aazaan myself, I was like, sarcastic ^o). Then later I thought that probably he also must've heard it from some other Masjid and hence told me :)

If I get a chance to give a suggestion to the Govermnet of Pakistan, then I'd surely talk about this issue of the timings of Prayers :)

Haan na
Masjid ka bhi qusoor hai na. They all should give Aazaan at the same time, not like whenever they want to.

Hmm...but the good thing about slightly different times is that if u miss jamaat at one masjid, u can catch it at the other!!!!!!

:o

Different timings will make u indisciplined + lazy, coz u'd mostly think of going late to the jamaat, whereas if u have prayer at one time, u'll know that u have to go at that very time only!!!
And u see, the prayer timings r not something made by us. Its decided by Allah. So, y make changes to that???

Allah didn't say that u have to read Juma at exactly 1:00 o'clock!!! He gave a specific time range..ynai kay from this period to this period u can offer this prayer......kay samjhee :p

Yes exactly!!! thats what i m trying to say. Here in Kuwait v have a whole year's calender for prayer timings. Exactly 20 minutes after Aazaan, the Jamaat starts (Except Maghrib, whose Jamaat starts after about 2 mins)...
